Enjoy a refreshingly different view of history at Huntley Meadows Park as guest speakers join us each quarter for a lively discussion of varied topics. Then enjoy a tour of Historic Huntley. Evening Stroll

(Ages 6 and up) 8:00 - 10:00 pm.

A naturalist takes you on a relaxing stroll through the park at dusk to tour the woods and wetlands to watch and listen for beavers, owls and other nocturnal residents. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.

Safely See the Great American Eclipse

(Ages 3 and up) 7:00 - 8:00 pm.

Come out to your local park and learn about the science behind eclipses what causes them and why they are so locally rare. We will teach you the many ways to safely view the eclipse from where ever you are on August 21st. Program attendees receive a free pair of solar viewing shades.

Historic Huntley sits high upon a hill overlooking Hybla Valley and Huntley Meadows Park. It's a dramatic setting made all the more stunning by the setting sun. Huntley's forests are home to certain plants whose ancestors have been with us since dinosaur times! Learn about the ferns, moss and their allies on a 1.5 mile hike (flat terrain) while keeping a complimentary field sketch book provided by Running Brooke Fund.
