Wild Side Wagon Ride

(Families with children ages 6 and up). Take a 90-minute tractor ride with a park naturalist to parts of the wetland that are difficult to reach on foot. Look for and learn about songbirds, wildflowers, butterflies, and waterfowl, then stop for a snack at the observation platform. Meets at the South King's Highway entrance to the park. $6

Birding for Beginners

(12 years and up), 8-11am. Interested in birding? We can get you started! Learn about the birds in the park and try out different optics. Program begins in the parking lot. Reservations required. $6

Birth of a Wetland

10am-noon. Walk along woodland streams with Park Manager Kevin Munroe tracing the wetland from its beginning in the Woodstone neighborhood down Barnyard Run to the marsh boardwalk. Canceled if rain. Reservations required. $6

Fly Tying

(12 yrs. and up), 12:30-2pm. Learn the beautiful art of tying your own fishing flies from naturalist and angler Suzanne Malone. Reservations required (a supply fee will be due to your instructor at the beginning of class). $12

Leathery Wings

1-2pm. See a vampire bat skull, hear bat calls, and explore the amazing world of these nocturnal flyers through naturalist-led activities and games. Children must be accompanied by an adult. $6

Oh Deer!

(6 yrs. and up), 12:30-2pm. Families go off-trail to look for signs of deer activity, and talk about the importance of these animals. Reservations required. Canceled if rain. $6
