Sunday March 1
Leave it to Beaver
(6 yrs. and up), 5:15-6:30pm. Families will look for signs of beavers and, if we're lucky, catch a glimpse of these nocturnal engineers. Sponsored by FOHMP. Reservations required. Cancelled if rain. $6/adult,$4/child

Sunday April 5
Ado About Nature-Art Opening
2-4pm. Photography show opening of images taken at Huntley Meadows and around the world by award winning photographers Bob and Jorja Feldman. Reservations suggested. FREE

Wednesday April 8
Swamp Serenade
(5 yrs. and up), 7:15-8:45pm. Listen to the frogs and toads as their courtship songs fill the wetland. One flashlight per family is recommended. Cancelled if cold. Sponsored by FOHMP. Reservations required. $6/adult,$4/child

Friday April 10
Café Cattail
7-9:30pm. Welcome to Huntley Meadows' very own coffeehouse! Enjoy a relaxing evening applauding our community's talents. Musicians, dancers and poets are encouraged to share their arts with a nature theme. Reservations required for performers only. Sponsored by FOHMP. FREE

Sunday April 19
Eco-Savvy Expo
(Families), 12-4pm, Huntley Meadows Visitor Center, 703-768-2525. Please join us and we'll send you home with shade-gardening tips, rain garden plant lists, wildlife brochures and everything you've ever wanted to know about attracting local native wildlife! Many items will be available for purchase, including the best native plants, bee boxes, rain barrels, wildflower seed mixes. FREE (small fee for some presentations)

Sunday April 19
Book Signing-Earth in the Hot Seat
2-4pm, Huntley Meadows Visitor Center, 703-768-2525. Meet author Marfe Ferguson Delano as she signs her new book for children about global warming, with photographs from the National Geographic Society. Books will be available for purchase at the event. Reservations suggested. FREE

Sunday May 3
Wetlands Awareness Day
Noon-3pm. Enjoy an afternoon of wetland interpretation, wildlife presentations and a Fun Fair for kids. Bring your friends and family to celebrate the importance of wetlands to wildlife and you. There is a modest fee for some activities. Sponsored by FOHMP. FREE

Sunday May 17
Historic Huntley Open House
2-4pm. Visit this Federal-style house only open twice a year to the general public. Learn its connection to Huntley Meadows Park and all the various uses the house has had over its history. Sponsored by Friends of Historic Huntley. FREE
