Friday, September 26
Café Cattail
(Families) 7-9:30 p.m. End your busy work week with relaxing, nature-inspired music, poetry, and dance at this popular open-mike coffeehouse. Reservations required for performers only. FREE

Saturday, October 11
Birth of a Wetland
10-noon. Walk along wooded streams with Park Manager Kevin Munroe tracing the wetland from its beginning in the Woodstone neighborhood down Barnyard Run to the marsh boardwalk. Cancelled if rain. Reservations required. $6/adult; $4/child

Video-Eagles (also Sunday, October 12)
1-1:45pm. Follow a family of bald eagles as the adults make their nest, raise their chicks, and coax them to fly. Enjoy spectacular aerial photography, natural sounds and original music during this 45-minute video. FREE

Saturday, October 18
Watershed Clean-up Day
9-11:30 a.m. Give the waterways in your community a clean bill of health! Wear boots, old clothes, and gloves. Reservations required. FREE

Sunday, October 19
Historic Huntley Fall Open House
2-4 p.m. Learn about the history of the house through a tour and a puppet show, during this twice-a-year open house. Sponsored by Friends of Historic Huntley. FREE

Saturday, October 25 & Sunday, Oct. 26
Creatures of the Night
1-3 p.m. Step into the night-time world of bats, owls, and beavers through self-guided displays, hands-on activities, and a movie with popcorn! Children must be accompanied by an adult. $4/child

Sunday, October 26
Oh Deer!
(6 years and up) 12:30-2 p.m. Go off-trail with two of the Park's "deerstalkers" to look for signs of deer activity. Reservations required. Cancelled if rain. $6/adult, $4/child.
Sunday, November 9
Autumn Evening Walk
(6 years and up) 4-5:30 p.m. Families visit the wetland and, if we're lucky, catch a glimpse of beavers. Children must be accompanied by adults. Reservations required. Cancelled if rain. $6/adult; $4/child

Saturday, November 15 & Sunday, Nov. 16
Native American Theme
1-3 p.m. Travel back to a time when Native Americans populated this country. Self-guided displays and hands-on activities for families working together. $4/child

Saturday, November 22 & Sunday, Nov. 23
Video-Cardinals Up Close
1-2 p.m. Meet the Northern cardinal, Virginia's state bird and a familiar backyard visitor, during this 50-minute video. FREE

Sunday December 14
Huntley Holiday Happening
1-4pm. Looking for something special for the nature-lover on your list? Enjoy an afternoon of shopping with a 10% discount on merchandise during the event, yummy treats and holiday crafts. FREE

Friday January 23
Café Cattail
7-9:30pm Welcome to Huntley Meadows' very own coffeehouse! Enjoy a relaxing evening applauding our community's talents. Musicians, dancers and poets are encouraged to share their arts with a nature theme. Reservations required for performers only. Sponsored by FOHMP. FREE

Monday January 26
Winter Chills and Thrills
(5-10 yrs.), 1pm-3pm What a fun way to spend the day off from school. Discover how wildlife copes with winter by playing games, making crafts and exploring self-guided activities. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Sponsored by FOHMP. $4/child

Saturday January 24 and Sunday January 25

Winter Hike-Hawks, Marsh Ducks and Meadows
(9 and up), 1pm-3:30pm Chase the winter blues away with a two mile hike on the South King's Highway side of the park. Look for winter hawks and ducks, insect galls, and bluebirds and goldfinches. Children must be accompanied by an adult. $6

Saturday February 14 and Sunday February 15
Sherlock Bones
1-3pm Skulls, skeletons and self-guided activities will be set up in the classroom to bring out the Sherlock in you. Children must be accompanied by an adult. FREE

Saturday February 21
Wonderful Wetland Waterfowl
(9 and up), 2pm-4pm Hike the boardwalk to the observation tower, looking for green-winged teals, pintails, swamp sparrows, winter wrens, and hopefully spot a bald eagle. Children must be accompanied by an adult. $6

Saturday February 21 and Sunday February 22
Sherlock Bones
1-3pm (SEE 2/14.) FREE
